I've taken Longevinex since I think about 2006 or so. I just finished off my last box. People say I look younger, but I'm not a scientific research subject so I have no idea if it was this product, or loosing 45 lbs, getting fit, and taking a bunch of other supplements. I also went through a huge psychological rebirth so that could have had just as much effect in my opinion.

I'm taking a plain resveratrol product now. I may go back to Longevinex, but really, all that flashy stuff on their website makes me think they are selling snake oil. If I see "proven" one more time in relation to Longevinex, I may barf.

I think that if you were happy with the product you are taking, you wouldnt have posted the question. I took the product you say you are using and it didnt agree with me. I researched and found what Revgen mentioned, it has been working well enough to continue (no sides)  I also added approx 150 mgs of the pure micronized powder to my once daily dose. After a year of use I have no complaints. Im not saying it will work for you in the same manner, but after researching I think this is the closest you can come to a pharmaceutical grade Resveratrol product right now. I hope that doesnt sound shrewd or clever and that it helps you. Happy Holidays!

Hi Pat,

I assume you know what the LD-50 is for resveratrol?

I am pretty sure Dr. Sinclair or Dr. B here probably do not know what dose that would be in rats or humans, as resveratrol has very little toxicity if any. Rats have been shown to take tens of grams per kg, and yet this amount has not been determined yet that I know of.

In that respect to your question (or rather the question, that you then answer through your post), I would state that I personally believe the best product out there to be RevGenetics Nitro250 as it uses verified micronized resveratrol, at 1.5 microns, emulsified, and using tween 80 in a proprietary formulation using patented nitrogen protected Licaps.

Being cunning, rascally or shrewd (such as by answering your own question in a public post) makes it appear (at least to me personally) that being too clever can provide the wrong result.

According to Sirtris data, a formulation of resveratrol and tween 80 produced a high increase in absorption over all methods tested in the data. So why not take something that is as close to the Sirtris data as possible?

I understand how people feel regarding their old brands, however the older brands used research and science from 2004. And many formulations have not been updated to take advantage of the higher purity trans-resveratrol that is now available, new data regarding absorption, Licaps delivery system, or the aspects regarding low particle size.

Many times I prefer to be pretty blunt about the obvious, specially when it appears simple facts are all that people need to make the right choice.

Cheers

I've failed at concocting a successful Primum Ens and the Saint-Germaine chicken breasts and oatmeal diet was boring. So, I've decided to join this forum.

Like most people, I'm interested in the most effectively packaged active form of the most effective form of resveratrol. So it can be effective for longer than it takes to finish my morning bagel.

Not only does the Longevinex brand seem to be advertised as such, but I do remember reading the Imminst forum a long time ago. There was a post regarding Dr. Sinclair using this brand for his own use. And I don't care whether he used a shovel-full or not. (If anyone's  reached anywhere near LD-50, there may be a gene pool bonus for the rest of us.) There was also a statement in the imminst forum that the Longevinex brand was  the one used in some of the initial research regarding resveratrol.

I understand that promoting a brand can have its negative consequences. I also understand the art of 'pump the product' genres of posting. But the imminst posters just didn't seem to be that shrewd..in the negative sense of the word, that is.

Many professionals are pretty careless with their own health experimentation. (Check out the hx of the Swan-Ganz)  So, the visual of this Harvard person popping the Longevinex brand did have a ring of the genuine to it. Therefore, that's the brand I decided to use, (too), and will continue to, unless someone wants to dispose of experimental garbage like SRT501 to my brick and mortar address.

As a basically fashion-conscious, unwitting Cran diet person since age 12, it's a bit difficult to see if Longevinex/effective resveratrol~ is working, though. If anyone has any working alternatives,  (currently available to the general public or not) please post it or link the data–include before and after pics. Do NOT send if the *after* pics show a bunch of smiling old people.

Until SRT2104 comes to the corner drugstore, (and most likely, after)  I'll be continuing my search for immortality. Good luck with your search, as well.

Happy Holidays.
