Yes, it may be rather dated material, but work was published by a Dr. Newbold, he called it "Orthomolecular Psychiatry"  he treated psychiatric patients with mega doses of various vitamins. He published a monograph that contains regimens for the treatment of Schizophrenia and depression, Its  obscure, but worth looking at.There is also the "Journal of Orthomolecular Psychiatry". Dr. Abrahan Hoffer has published  relating to this. A site called Orthomolecular.org has some articles. I havent kept current on it, it may still be being utilized or practiced. The Church of Scientology also has done work with vitamins for mental illness, but I dont think its published anywhere. Im sure its patented technology and only church members would have access. I hope that helps you.

For the past couple of years I have occasionally attended the Psychiatric Genetics and Translational Research Seminar at Massachusetts General Hospital and have wondered about the potential roles of supplements in this category of diseases.

Can anyone tell me if they know of any observations about supplement effects on mental health conditions (e.g. depression, schizophrenia, etc.) or neurological disorders (e.g. multiple sclerosis, ALS, etc.)?
