Rapamycin is out of reach for most folks, but for those that it is not… it may help understand what the current dose that is used compares with what the higher dose in studies.
As for the method it uses to increase lifespan, this explanation may also help folks understand if there is other things they maybe taking that may act in a similar fashion, but are much less powerful.
My personal interest in it of course, is to find something in nature that may be similar (even though it maybe less powerful).
Cheers

Thanks for the link! The problem with Rapamycin is that it is essentially out of reach for most people. Supplements like RLA, L-carnitine, Tocotrienols, Creatine etc. are available, hence there may be more interest.

I would love to see a thread on dosage suggestions or opinions on resveratrol, Rapamycin, and others. Seems like there everyone has an opinion as to what is the correct dosage for themselves.

For those who don't know about Rapamycin (Sirolimus), here's a casebook I just created citing some hand-picked web sites for both general information and specific information on the lifespan studies in mice.

I haven't yet spent a lot of time on this, I just wanted to demonstrate how casebooks can be used to store your notes about a topic with bookmarks as citations. Anyone can create their own casebook on the same topic. I'm sure someone on the forum can make one better than mine. Casebooks are private by default but you can share them by publishing them on the Resounding Health site.

Option to share sounds good, although any one that posts here is doing so. Those are good ideas. There are probably a few supps that synergize with Resveratrol well, for most individuals, age and general health are crucial factors. I think the less medications a person is taking, the less likelihood of negative interactions. It woukd be good to know. There are people I would like to recommend Resveratrol to, but I know they are taking various meds that may not mix with it.To define which meds and conditions are containdicated for Resveratrol, if there are any, would be great.

I think you're absolutely right about this. It would be very interesting to learn what other people are taking with Resveratrol as a first step in teasing out potential synergistic effects (or adverse interactions).
A variation of this theme is what prescription medications people are taking with Resveratrol.
David and I are creating an electronic version of the "FDA medication record" that we included as an appendix in the e-book. This should be a convenient place for people to record this type of information. Question: should we make this private by default but provide an option to share with other registered members of the forum?
If I could make another suggestion, if and when someone decides to post on other supplements besides Resveratrol, could that someone please create a Resounding Health casebook on the particular supplement? (See the two I created for Resveratrol.)

I can't speak for Healthy Lifespan, but at ResForum.org, we are interested in all supplements, not just resveratrol. But resveratrol seemed like a good place to start, for obvious reasons.

Hi Guys,
I understand that the Healthy Lifespan Institute will be providing synthetic resveratrol as a non-profit, much like the LEF non-profit supplies supplements.
However can we also include other advances in Anit-Again, such as those found in the Methuselah Foundation which runs the M-Prize award… or is the new non-profit strictly going to simply sell and advertise resveratrol?
