Dallas, TX. Roberto Coppari’s lab reports in Endochrinology that administration of resveratrol to the brain of mice improves hypoerglycemia (pre-diabetes) in mice. They suggest that some of the effects of resveratrol are mediated via the hypothalamus in the central nervous system. Whether orlally ingested resveratrol makes it from the bloodstream to the hypothalamus is not clear.
